Description
- Treatment of active duodenal ulcer
- Benign gastric ulcer
- Reflux oesophagitis
- Zollinger-Ellison syndrome treatment
- Prevention of ulcer associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent
- Post operative stress ulcer treatment
- Competitively blocks histamine at H2-receptors
- Inhibition of gastric acid secretion
- No effect on pepsin secretion
- Dosage: 150 mg twice daily for duodenal and gastric ulcer
- Dosage: 300 mg as a single daily dose at night for 4 to 8 weeks
- Dosage: 150 mg twice daily for reflux oesophagitis
- Dosage: 300 mg at bedtime for up to 8 weeks for reflux oesophagitis
- Dosage: 150 mg 3 times daily for Zollinger Ellison syndrome
- Dosage: Up to 6 g daily for Zollinger Ellison syndrome
- Dosage: 150 mg twice daily for episodic dyspepsia
- Dosage: 2-4 mg/kg twice daily for children with peptic ulcer
