Indications
- Scabies
- Pediculosis pubis and capitis
Pharmacology
- Treats ectoparasites such as scabies and pediculosis
- Toxic to sarcoptes scabiei and pediculosis
- Kills sarcoptes mite in 5 minutes
- Mechanism of action may involve the nervous system of the parasite
Dosage & Administration
- Applied after a hot bath and drying for scabies
- Applied to the whole body except the head and face for scabies
- Possibility of failure lessened if a second application is made within 5 days for scabies
- Affected region is coated with Scabisol followed by a wash 24 hours later with soap and water for pediculosis
- Can be diluted with water for children
