- Maximum recommended dose 20/12.5 mg once daily

Pharmacology
- Bisoprolol Fumarate is a β1-selective adrenoceptor blocking agent
- Hydrochlorothiazide is a benzothiadiazine diuretic
- Thiazides affect renal tubular mechanisms of electrolyte reabsorption
- Increase excretion of sodium and chloride
- Lower incidence of hypokalemia with combination
Interaction
- Potentiate action of other antihypertensive agents
- Not to be combined with other beta-blocking agents
- Cautious use with concomitant therapy with clonidine
- Cautious use with myocardial depressants and inhibitors of AV conduction
- Concomitant use with digitalis glycosides increases risk of bradycardia
Contraindications
- Cardiogenic shock
- Overt cardiac failure
- Second or third degree AV block
- Marked sinus bradycardia
- Anuria
- Hypersensitivity to either component
