Indications

Treatment of postoperative inflammation
Reduction of ocular pain
Patients who have undergone cataract extraction

Pharmacology

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
Anti-inflammatory activity
Inhibition of cyclooxygenase 1 and 2
Block prostaglandin synthesis
Mediators of intraocular inflammation
Disruption of blood-aqueous humor barrier
Vasodilatation
Increased vascular permeability
Leukocytosis
Increased intraocular pressure

Dosage & Administration

One drop applied to affected eye(s) once daily
Start 1 day prior to cataract surgery
Continued on the day of surgery
Continue through the first 14 days of the postoperative period

Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to any ingredients of the formulation

Side Effects

Abnormal sensation in eye
Conjunctival hyperemia
Eye irritation (including burning/stinging)
Eye pain
Eye pruritus
Eye redness
Headache
Iritis

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category C
No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
Use during pregnancy if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus
Caution when administered to a nursing woman

Precautions & Warnings

Topical NSAIDs may slow or delay healing
Topical corticosteroids may slow or delay healing
Concomitant use with topical steroids may increase potential for healing problems
Use with caution in patients with known bleeding tendencies
Patients receiving medications which may prolong bleeding time

Storage Conditions

Store in a cool (below 30°C), dry place and away from light
Keep out of reach of children
Prevent contamination of the dropper tip and solution
Do not touch eyelids, surrounding areas, finger, or other surfaces with the dropper tip
Tightly close the bottle when not in use
Do not use after 4 weeks of first opening
