Mode of Action

  • Contains Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)
  • Calcium necessary for bone formation and maintenance
  • Vitamin D3 aids in absorption & reabsorption of Calcium
  • Stimulates bone formation
  • Supports bone growth
  • Aids in prevention of osteoporosis & bone fracture

Dosage & Administration

  • Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 200 IU Tablet: 2 tablets daily or 1 tablet twice daily
  • Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 400 IU Tablet: 1 tablet twice daily
  • Best taken with or just after a meal to improve absorption

Interaction

  • Possible interactions with calcium, aluminum or magnesium containing antacids
  • Interactions with other calcium supplements
  • Interactions with calcitriol & other vitamin D3 supplements
  • Interactions with digoxin, tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline or oxytetracycline

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in hypercalcaemia
  • Contraindicated in hyperthyroidism
  • Contraindicated in renal calculi & nephrolithiasis
  • Contraindicated in Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
