- Cefixime is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic for oral administration with bactericidal activity against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
- Cefim-3 is indicated for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), lower respiratory tract infections, and urinary tract infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
- The usual course of treatment is 7 days, which may be extended to 14 days if required. Dosage varies for adults, elderly, and children, with specific recommendations for typhoid treatment and renal impairment.
