Description
- Orally active cephalosporin antibiotic
- Bactericidal activity against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms
- Indicated for the treatment of acute infections
- Bactericidal against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria
- Interferes in the synthesis of bacterial cell wall
- Not significantly modified by the presence of food
- Treatment duration of 7-14 days
- Adult dosage: 200-400 mg daily
- Pediatric dosage: based on age and weight
- Caution required in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics
