Dosage

200-400 mg daily for adults, 8 mg/kg/day for children, adjusted for renal impairment

Oral administration, with or without food

Upper Respiratory Tract Infections

Pharmacology

Bactericidal against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria

Absorption

About 40% to 50%, not significantly modified by food

Interaction

May increase prothrombin times in some patients

Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics
