Indications

Pharmacology
- Mechanism of action: Interference in bacterial cell wall synthesis
- Mode of action: Inhibition of transpeptidase enzyme
- Active ingredient: Cephalexin, a semisynthetic analogue of Cephalosporin C
Dosage & Administration
- Usual adult dose: 250 mg to 500 mg every 6 hours
- Maximum adult dose for severe infections: 3 g to 6 g daily
- Children's weight recommended dose ranges
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics
