Indications
- Treatment of ocular infections involving the conjunctiva and/or cornea
- Indicated for infections caused by specific organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae
Pharmacology
- Broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic
- Inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis
Dosage & Administration
- 1-2 drops in the conjunctival sac 4-6 times per day for the first 72 hours
- Subsequent dosage every 4 hours
- Treatment duration of approximately 7 days
Interaction
- Potential inhibition of Chymotrypsin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Chloramphenicol or any ingredients of the preparation
