Composition
- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol
Mode of Action
Bactericidal effect due to binding of chlorhexidine cation to bacterial cell walls
Dosage & Administration
- Disinfect clean hand & contaminated materials: Apply 3ml and scrub until dried
- Disinfect surgical instruments: Immerse instruments in 5ml for 2 minutes
- Disinfect skin prior to surgery or invasive procedures: Apply 3ml with cotton until dried
- Disinfect wound/wound dressing: Apply 3ml with cotton until dried
Interaction
Incompatible with soaps and anionic agents, may cause brown stains with hypochlorite bleaches
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine Gluconate or any composition
