Contraindications
- Diseases associated with hypercalcemia
- Known hypersensitivity to Vitamin D3
- Evidence of Vitamin D3 toxicity
Side Effects
- Symptoms including anorexia, lassitude, nausea & vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, weight loss, polyuria, sweating, headache, thirst, vertigo, raised concentrations of calcium and phosphate in plasma and urine
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Safe use of doses up to 4000 IU during pregnancy
- Recommended daily intake for pregnant women: 400 IU
- Excretion of Vitamin D3 and its metabolites in breast milk
- Importance of following medical practitioner's advice
