Description
- Unique dual-action formulation for eyes and ears
- Topical treatment for steroid-responsive ocular conditions
- Contains Dexamethasone and Ciprofloxacin
- Effective against bacterial infections in the eyes and ears
- Can be used post-operatively for inflammation in eyes and ears
- Suitable for otitis externa and chronic otitis media
- Glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic action
- Inhibits prostaglandin synthesis and neutrophil infiltration
- Antibacterial action against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive organisms
- Interferes with DNA gyrase enzyme for bacterial DNA synthesis
- Dosage of 1 drop in conjunctival sac(s) every 4-6 hours for eyes
- Increased dosage to 1 drop every 2 hours in initial 24-48 hours for eyes
- Dosage of 4 drops in affected ear 2 times daily for 7 days for otitis externa in children
- Pediatric safety and effectiveness not established for children below 1 year
- Potential interactions with theophylline, caffeine, warfarin, and cyclosporin
- Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to any ingredient
- Not to be used in herpes simplex, viral conditions, mycosis, glaucoma, or fungal diseases
- Possible adverse effects in eyes include burning, discomfort, redness, and blurred vision
- Potential adverse effects in ears include discomfort, pain, and erythema
- Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to the fetus
- Caution advised when using during nursing period
- Consider possibility of fungal infections after long-term steroid dosing
- Prolonged antibiotic use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms
- Prolonged use of ophthalmic steroids may result in glaucoma, optic nerve damage, and cataract formation
- Aural steroid & antibiotic combined preparation
- Store in cool, dry place away from light
- Use within 30 days after first opening
- Close bottle tightly after each use
