Technical Specifications
- Dosage for serious infections: 150mg-300mg every six hours
- Dosage for more severe infections: 300mg-450mg every six hours
- Dosage for pediatric patients weighing 10kg or less: 1/2 teaspoon (37.5mg) three times a day
- Dosage for neonates (less than 1 month): 15 to 20 mg/kg/day in 3 to 4 equal doses
- Dosage for children (1 month to 16 years): 20 to 40 mg/kg/day in 3 or 4 equal doses

Indications
Effective in the treatment of various infections caused by susceptible anaerobic and gram positive bacteria
Interaction
Enhances the action of other neuromuscular blocking agents, antagonism with erythromycin demonstrated in vitro
Contraindications
Not to be used in patients previously found to be sensitive to clindamycin or any of its ingredients
Side Effects
Adverse reactions include abdominal pain, oesophagitis, oesophageal ulcer, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pruritus, skin rashes, urticaria
Pregnancy & Lactation
Category B, crosses the placenta in humans, appears in breast milk, not recommended for nursing mothers if not clearly needed
