Description
- Lincosamide antibiotic
- Derived from lincomycin
- Effective against susceptible microorganisms
- Aerobic gram-positive cocci, including Staphylococcus and Streptococci
- Anaerobic gram-negative bacilli, including Bacteroides and Fusobacterium species
- Anaerobic gram-positive non-spore forming bacilli, including Propionibacterium and Actinomyces species
- Anaerobic and microaerophilic gram-positive cocci, including Peptococcus and Peptostreptococcus species

DosageAndAdministration
- Dosage for serious infections: 150-300 mg every six hours
- Dosage for more severe infections: 300-450 mg every six hours
- Dosage of Clindamycin Powder for oral solution for various types of infections
- Dosage of Clindamycin IV/IM Injection for adults, neonates, and pediatric patients
- Contraindications: sensitivity to clindamycin or any ingredients
- Side effects: abdominal pain, oesophagitis, nausea, skin rashes
Interaction
- Enhances the action of neuromuscular blocking agents
- Antagonism with erythromycin
- Caution with concomitant use of neuromuscular blocking agents
