Indications
- Topical treatment of Acne vulgaris
Pharmacology
- Combination of lincosamide antibiotic Clindamycin phosphate and retinoid Tretinoin
- Clindamycin binds with the 50s ribosomal subunit
- Prevention of elongation of peptide chain
- Interference with peptidyl transfer
- Suppressing bacterial protein synthesis
- Inhibition of Propionibacterium acne activity
- Tretinoin decreases cohesiveness of follicular epithelial cells
- Increases follicular cell turnover
- Brings comedones out
Dosage & Administration
- Apply before sleep
- Wash face with mild soap and water before application
- Pat skin dry before application
- Apply sunscreen in the morning
- Avoid washing face more than 2-3 times a day
- Safety and effectiveness not established for children below 12 years
Interaction
- Concomitant use of potentially irritating topical products should be approached with caution
- Decreased activity when used concomitantly with Erythromycin
- Avoid concomitant use with Erythromycin
- Increased activity of neuromuscular medicine with concomitant use
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Clindamycin or Tretinoin or any other component of the Gel

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Exercise special caution while applying to a nursing mother
Precautions & Warnings
- Do not apply to eyes, nose, ear, lips, cut, burn, or other infections
- Keep away from sunlight after application
