Indications

Pharmacology
- Topically active corticosteroid
- More effective than 1% Hydrocortisone
- Little effect on hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal function
- Causes less thinning of the epidermis

Contraindications
- Infection with viruses, fungi, or bacteria
- Hypersensitivity to the preparations

- Care needed when applied to eyelids to avoid glaucoma

- Care needed in various conditions such as peptic ulcer, osteoporosis, psychoses, diabetes mellitus, epilepsy, glaucoma, etc.
- Prolonged use on the face
Overdose Effects
- Features of hypercorticism may appear
- Discontinue topical steroids in case of chronic overdosage
