Indications
- Treatment of panic disorder with or without agoraphobia
- Treatment of Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome
- Adjunct in the treatment of certain seizures
Pharmacology
- Exhibits anticonvulsive, sedative, muscle relaxing, and anxiolytic effects
- Enhances GABAergic neurotransmission

Dosage & Administration
- Initial dose for adults with seizure disorders not to exceed 1.5 mg/day
- Initial dose for adults with panic disorder is 0.25 mg
- Dosage increment for pediatric patients based on body weight
Interaction
- No known alteration of specific drug pharmacokinetics
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines
- Evidence of significant liver disease
- Acute narrow angle glaucoma
Side Effects
- Common CNS depression related effects
- Potential behavior problems, abnormal eye movements, coma, tremor, confusion, insomnia, etc.
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Potential for producing congenital malformations
- Risk-benefit assessment for administration during pregnancy

- Possible increase in incidence of generalized tonic-clonic seizures
- Concomitant use with valproic acid may produce absence status
