Indications

Description
- Broad-spectrum antifungal agent
- Treatment of dermal infections caused by various species of pathogenic dermatophytes, yeasts, moulds, and bacteroids
- Active against certain gram-positive bacteria especially Staphylococci and Tricomonas
- Alters the permeability of fungal cell walls
- Inhibits ergosterol synthesis
Pharmacology
- Damages the permeability barrier in the cell membrane of fungi
- Causes inhibition of ergosterol biosynthesis
- Inhibits lanosterol 14-demethylase (CYP51)
- Depletes intracellular calcium
- Blocks calcium-dependent potassium channels and voltage-dependent calcium channels
Dosage & Administration
- Thinning applying 2-3 times daily to infected sites
- Recommended duration of treatment for different conditions
- Prevention of relapse in fungal infection of the feet
- Odorless and can be washed off
