  • 60 mg Once daily for Healing of Erosive Esophagitis for up to 8 weeks
  • 30 mg tablet Once daily for Maintenance of Healed erosive esophagitis and relief of heartburn for 6 months in adults and 16 weeks in patients 12 to 17 years of age
  • 30 mg tablet Once daily for Symptomatic Non-Erosive GERD for 4 weeks

Interaction

  • May interact with Atazanavir, Warfarin, Tacrolimus, Clopidogrel & Methotrexate

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation

Side Effects

  • Common side effects include diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting & flatulence

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Pregnancy Category B
  • No adequate and well-controlled studies with Dexlansoprazole in pregnant women
  • No adequate and well-controlled studies with Dexlansoprazole in Lactating mother

Precautions & Warnings

  • Gastric Malignancy
  • Clostridium difficile Associated Diarrhea
  • Bone fracture
  • Hypomagnesemia
  • Concomitant use of Delanix with Methotrexate

Special Populations

  • Safety and effectiveness in children below 12 years age have not been established
  • No dose adjustment necessary for elderly patients
  • No dose adjustment for patients with renal impairment
  • No dose adjustment necessary for patients with mild hepatic impairment
  • Consider a maximum daily dose of 30 mg for patients with moderate hepatic impairment

Overdose Effects

  • No reports of significant overdose of Delanix
  • Multiple doses of Delanix 120 mg and a single dose of Delanix 300 mg did not result in severe adverse events or death
