Description
Asozit is a proton pump inhibitor used to relieve chronic heartburn symptoms, treat erosive esophagitis, maintain healing of erosive esophagitis, eradicate Helicobacter pylori infection, manage Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, acid-related dyspepsia, duodenal and gastric ulcers, and reduce the risk of rebleeding of gastric or duodenal ulcers following therapeutic endoscopy.

- Dosage:
- 20 mg or 40 mg daily for healing of erosive esophagitis
- 20 mg daily for maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis
- 20 mg daily for symptomatic GERD
- 40 mg daily in triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication
- 20-80 mg daily for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- 20-40 mg daily for acid-related dyspepsia
- 20 mg daily for duodenal ulcer, 20-40 mg daily for gastric ulcer
- IV injection or infusion for various conditions and age groups
- Administration:
- Swallow whole one hour before meal for tablet or capsule
- Preparation and administration instructions for oral suspension and IV injection
- Interaction:
- Metabolism by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
- Potential interference with drugs affected by gastric pH
- No clinically significant interactions with specific drugs
- Contraindications:
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the formulation

- Specific instructions for patients unable to swallow capsules
- Use of antacids while taking Asozit
- Use in Special Populations:
- Safety and effectiveness not established in paediatric patients
- No overall differences observed in geriatric use
- No dosage adjustment in mild to moderate hepatic insufficiency
- Pharmacokinetics not expected to be altered in renal impairment
- Overdose Effects:
- Acute toxicity signs observed in animal studies
- No specific antidote known
- Symptomatic and supportive treatment recommended
