Dosage
- Oral dosage form
- Healing of Erosive Esophagitis: 20 mg or 40 mg Once Daily for 4-8 Weeks
- Symptomatic GERD: 20 mg Once Daily for 4 Weeks
- IV Injection for Adult Patients: 20 mg or 40 mg once daily
- Pediatric Patients IV Infusion Dosage based on body weight
- Risk reduction of rebleeding of Gastric or Duodenal Ulcers following therapeutic endoscopy: Adult Patients: 80 mg
Administration
- Tablet or capsule should be swallowed whole and taken one hour before a meal
- Oral Suspension preparation and administration
- IV Injection preparation and administration
Interaction
- Metabolism by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
- No clinically relevant interactions with specific CYP enzymes
- Potential interference with CYP2C19
- Possible interference with absorption of certain drugs
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the formulation

- Use alongside antacids
Use in Special Populations

- No overall differences in safety and efficacy between elderly and younger individuals
- No dosage adjustment recommended for mild to moderate hepatic insufficiency
Overdose Effects
- Lethal dose observed in rats
