Ovostat Gold 0.0375 mg+0.75 mg (Tablet)

Indications

• Prevents pregnancy
• Combines two contraceptive pills

Dosage & Administration

• Take pill daily at the same time
• Start pill on the first day of menstruation
• Use condom in the first month if starting pill mid-cycle
• Take 1 pill daily for 22 days, then 6 pill-free days before starting a new pack

Interaction

• May reduce effectiveness of ampicillin, tetracycline, barbiturates, hydantoins, primidone, carbamazepine, rifampicin

Contraindications

• Avoid in presence or history of venous thrombosis, cardiovascular accident, diabetes with vascular symptoms, severe hypertension, severe dyslipoproteinemia, predisposition to venous or arterial thrombosis, cancer of genital organs, breast, or liver, liver disease, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, hypersensitivity to any ingredients

Side Effects

• Temporary side effects may occur such as headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, breakthrough bleeding, but usually subside within 2-3 months
• Consult a doctor if side effects persist for an extended period

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Avoid use during pregnancy or if pregnancy is suspected

Precautions & Warnings

• Missed pills can reduce efficacy, follow instructions for missed pills carefully
• Special caution for certain medical conditions like diabetes mellitus, systemic lupus erythematosus, hemolytic uremic syndrome
• Caution for breastfeeding women as it may alter milk quantity and quality
• Consult a doctor in case of unexpected issues like breast tenderness, migraine, skin problems, edema, weight changes
