Pharmacology
- Fibric acid derivative
- Rapid hydrolysis

- Initial dose 200mg per day for hypercholesterolemia
- Initial dose 67 to 200mg per day for hypertriglyceridemia

- Optimized bioavailability with meal intake
Interaction
- Potentiates anticoagulant effects of warfarin
- Improves glucose tolerance when administered with antidiabetic drugs
- Increases nephrotoxicity of cyclosporine
- Cautions with HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors
- Well tolerated with low-dose statins
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Fenofibrate
- Severe renal or hepatic impairment
- Existing gall bladder disease
- Breastfeeding
- Photosensitivity to ketoprofen
