Indications

Treatment of Iron, Folic Acid, and Zinc deficiency
Prophylaxis during pregnancy and lactation

Composition

Each capsule contains Ferrous Sulphate BP 150 mg (equivalent to 47 mg Iron)
Folic Acid BP 500 mcg
Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate USP 61.80 mg (equivalent to 22.50 mg Zinc)

Dosage & Administration

Adult or Elderly: 1 capsule daily, 2 capsules daily in severe cases
Children over 1 year: 1 capsule daily
Capsule may be opened and mixed with soft cool food for children

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to components
Iron overload

Nausea

Pregnancy & Lactation

Avoid use in first trimester if possible
Require evidence of Iron deficiency for first trimester use
Justified use of Zinc and Folic acid during remainder of pregnancy

Precautions & Warnings

Care in patients at risk of Iron overloads
Failure to respond to treatment may indicate other causes of anaemia
Interactions with tetracycline, penicillamine, antacids
Reduced Zinc absorption in presence of Iron
Reduced Iron absorption by penicillamine and antacids
Zinc accumulation risk in renal failure patients

Overdose Effects

Iron overdosage is dangerous, particularly in children
Immediate attention required for iron overdose
Gastric lavage or induced vomiting as early measures
Oral desferrioxamine for iron overdose
Symptomatic and supportive measures for zinc overdose
Timed-release capsule delayed absorption
