Indications

Treatment of Iron, Folic Acid and Zinc deficiency
Prophylaxis during pregnancy and lactation

Composition

Each capsule contains 150mg Ferrous Sulphate (equivalent to 47mg Iron)
Each capsule contains 500mcg Folic Acid
Each capsule contains 61.80mg Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate (equivalent to 22.50mg Zinc)

Dosage & Administration

Adult or Elderly: 1 capsule daily, may increase to 2 capsules daily in severe cases
Children (over 1 year): 1 capsule daily, may be opened and mixed with soft cool food

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to product components
Iron overload

Pregnancy & Lactation

Avoid drug use in first trimester if possible
Administer with definite evidence of Iron deficiency
Supplementary Zinc and Folic acid justified during pregnancy

Precautions & Warnings

Take care in patients prone to Iron overloads
Monitor for failure to respond to treatment
Potential interactions with tetracycline, penicillamine, antacids
Reduced Zinc absorption in the presence of Iron
Reduced Iron absorption in the presence of penicillamine and antacids
Separate administration of each product by several hours
Risk of Zinc accumulation in patients with renal failure

Overdose Effects

Iron overdosage is dangerous, particularly in children
Immediate gastric lavage or induced vomiting when appropriate
Give oral desferrioxamine and demulcent
Intravenous desferrioxamine for severe cases
Zinc Sulphate over dosage is corrosive
Symptomatic and supportive measures as required
