Indications
- Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
- Relief of symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria
Pharmacology
- H1 histamine receptor antagonist
- Blocks histamine release and inflammatory mediators
- Potent and selective affinity for H1 receptors
- No significant CNS effects
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 60 mg twice daily or 120 mg once daily or 180 mg once daily
- Pediatric dose: varies with age and condition
Interaction
- Increased fexofenadine level with erythromycin or ketoconazole coadministration
- No interaction with omeprazole
- Decreased bioavailability with aluminum and magnesium hydroxide antacids
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or any of its ingredients
