Indications
- Relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis
- Improvement of health-related quality of life and work/activity productivity for allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria
Pharmacology
- Action on the H1 histamine receptor to prevent allergic symptoms such as pruritus, rhinorrhea, and watery eyes
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dosage for adults and children of different age groups for allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria
- Different dosages for individuals with impaired renal function
Interaction
- Potential interaction with erythromycin or ketoconazole resulting in increased plasma levels
- No observed interaction with omeprazole but reduced bioavailability with antacids
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or its ingredients
Side Effects
- Reported undesirable effects in clinical trials such as headache, drowsiness, nausea, and fatigue
- Post-marketing surveillance identified hypersensitivity reactions, insomnia, tachycardia, diarrhea, rash, and urticaria
