Indications
- Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
- Relief of symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria
Dosage
- 60 mg twice daily for adults and children 12 years and older
- 30 mg twice daily for children from 6 to 11 years
Mode of Action
- Blocks histamine that the body makes during an allergic reaction
- Stabilizes the inactive form of the H1 receptor
Interaction
- No interaction between fexofenadine and omeprazole
- Advisable to leave 2 hours between administration of Fexonaaf and antacids
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or any of its ingredients
Side Effects
- Common: headache, drowsiness, dizziness
- Uncommon: fatigue
- Hypersensitivity reactions with manifestations such as angioedema, chest tightness, dyspnoea
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not recommended for mothers breast-feeding their babies
Precautions & Warnings
- Administer with care in older people, renally or hepatically impaired patients
- Antihistamines have been associated with adverse reactions like tachycardia and palpitations
Special Populations
- Patients with renal impairment: a starting dose of 60 mg once daily is recommended

- Reported effects include dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, and dry mouth
