Indications

Pharmacology
- Proton pump inhibitor
- Suppresses gastric acid secretion
- Specific inhibition of the H+/K+-ATPase
- Better acid control than racemic proton pump inhibitors
- Absorption: Enteric-coated pellet formulation
- Peak plasma levels at approximately 1.5 hours
- Distribution: 97% bound to plasma proteins
- Metabolism: Extensively metabolized in the liver
- Excretion: Less than 1% excreted in the urine

- Tablet or capsule: Swallowed whole, taken one hour before a meal

Interaction
- Metabolized in the liver by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
- Inhibition of CYP2C19
- Interference with drug absorption based on gastric pH

- Known hypersensitivity to any of the formulation
