Indications
- Short-term treatment of moderate to severe melasma of the face
- Sun avoidance post-treatment
- Use of sunscreen with at least SPF 30
Pharmacology
- Contains Fluocinolone Acetonide, Hydroquinone, and Tretinoin
- Mechanism of action is unknown
- Fluocinolone Acetonide is an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid
- Hydroquinone interrupts melanin synthesis
- Tretinoin is a keratolytic agent
Dosage & Administration
- Applied once daily at night
- Applied at least 30 minutes before bedtime
- Gently wash face and neck with mild cleanser before application
- Use of sunscreen and protective clothing during the day
- Avoid sunlight exposure
Interaction
- Avoid use of medicated or abrasive soaps
- Avoid cosmetics with drying effects
- Avoid products with high alcohol concentration
- Avoid concomitant use of photosensitizing medications
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity, allergy, or intolerance to the product or its components
Side Effects
- Possible severe allergic reactions
- Skin reactions such as redness, peeling, burning, dryness, or itching
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category C
- Teratogenic effects of tretinoin
- Cautious use during pregnancy if benefit justifies the risk
- Corticosteroids may appear in human milk
- Caution during lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Hydroquinone and Tretinoin may cause mild to moderate irritation
- Local irritation expected at application site
- Corticosteroid may result in systemic absorption and potential effects
- Discontinue use if hypersensitivity or chemical irritation is observed
