Indications
- Treatment of steroid responsive inflammation of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva
- Treatment of steroid responsive inflammation of the cornea
- Treatment of steroid responsive inflammation of the anterior segment of the globe
Pharmacology
- Corticosteroid with excellent anti-inflammatory action
- Induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins
- Control of biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation
- Lower propensity to increase intraocular pressure
Dosage & Administration
- Bottle should be shaken before use
- Instill 1 to 2 drops into the conjunctival sac two to four times daily
- Dosage may be increased to 2 drops every hour in the initial 24 to 48 hours
- Safety and effectiveness not demonstrated in children under 2 years of age

- Specific drug interaction studies not conducted
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with acute superficial Herpes simplex keratitis
- Contraindicated in patients with fungal diseases of ocular structures
- Contraindicated in patients with vaccinia or varicella
- Contraindicated in patients with mycobacterial infection of the eye
- Contraindicated in patients with most other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva
- Contraindicated in patients with tuberculosis of the eye
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the constituents of this medication

- Elevation of intraocular pressure with possible development of glaucoma
- Loss of visual acuity or defects in fields of vision
- Eye irritation
- Ocular hyperaemia
- Eye pain
- Visual disturbance
- Foreign body sensation
- Eyelid edema
- Blurred vision
- Eye discharge
- Eye pruritus
- Eye swelling
- Posterior subcapsular cataract formation
- Ulcerative keratitis
- Ocular infection (bacterial, fungal, viral)
- Punctate keratitis
- Hypersensitivity
- Rash
- Delayed wound healing
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category B3
- Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to the fetus
- Unknown systemic absorption for detectable quantities in breast milk
- Serious adverse reactions in nursing infants
Precautions & Warnings
- Great caution in patients with a history of Herpes simplex keratitis
- Use not recommended for more than 10 days without supervision and regular checks for intraocular pressure
- May mask, activate or aggravate an eye infection
- Consider alternative treatment if no improvement is seen after a few days of application

Storage Conditions
- Store in a dry place away from light
- Keep out of reach of children
- Avoid touching the dropper tip to eyelids or surrounding areas
- Tightly close the bottle when not in use
- Do not use after 4 weeks of first opening
