Indications
- Treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of specific organisms
Pharmacology
- Antibacterial action from inhibition of DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV
- Different mechanism of action from other antibiotics
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dosage regimen for 0.3% and 0.5% eye drops
Interaction
- Potential systemic drug interactions with theophylline, caffeine, warfarin, and cyclosporine
Contraindications
- History of hypersensitivity to Gatifloxacin or other quinolones
- Not for subconjunctival injection or introduction into the anterior chamber of the eye
Side Effects
- Frequently reported adverse events such as conjunctival irritation and increased lacrimation
Pregnancy & Lactation

- Caution during lactation due to unknown excretion in human milk
