Description

Glizid MR is a medicine used to reduce blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes when diet, exercise, and weight loss do not sufficiently control blood sugar level. It belongs to the sulphonylurea group and helps stimulate insulin release from pancreatic beta-cells and decrease hepatic glucose output.

  • Usual initial dose: 40 to 80 mg daily
  • Maximum dose: 320 mg daily in divided doses if needed
  • Take before meals
  • For modified release tablet: 1 to 4 tablets (maximum 120 mg) daily at breakfast time
