Description

  • Reduces blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes Mellitus
  • Stimulates insulin release from pancreatic cells
  • Decreases hepatic glucose output
  • Usual initial dose is 40 to 80 mg daily
  • Can be increased up to 320 mg daily in divided doses when needed
  • Recommended daily dose is one to four tablets (maximum 120 mg) in a single intake at breakfast time
  • Tablet to be taken with a glass of water at breakfast time
  • Swallow whole tablet without chewing or crushing
  • Always eat a meal after taking the tablet
  • Interacts with other medicines like sulphonamides, clarithromycin, beta-blockers, ACE-inhibitors, miconazole, fluconazole, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, phenylbutazone, metformin, GLP-1 receptor agonists, insulin, etc.
