Indications
- Antispasmodic medication
- Relief from smooth muscle spasms in abdominal and genitourinary tracts
- Treatment for dysmenorrhea
- Recommended for gastrointestinal and renal/biliary severe pain
- Used in radiology for preventive purposes
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 20mg four times daily
- Pediatric dose (6-12 years): 10mg thrice daily or as directed by a healthcare provider
- Adult injection dose: 20mg per dose, can be repeated after 30 minutes if necessary
- Higher frequency for endoscopic procedures
Contraindications
- Prostatic hypertrophy patients should avoid use
- Caution in elderly population
- Not recommended for parasitic ileus or pyloric stenosis patients
- Avoid in patients with glaucoma
Side Effects
- Dry mouth
- Mydriasis
- Increased intraocular pressure
- Flushing
- Skin dryness
- Bradycardia followed by tachycardia and arrhythmia
- May cause fatigue, vomiting, dizziness, and staggering
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use with caution in the first trimester of pregnancy and during lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- May cause drowsiness and decreased mental alertness
- Patients undergoing treatment should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery
- Restrict alcohol consumption
- Be cautious in cases of thyrotoxicosis, cardiac insufficiency, or pyloric obstruction
- Close monitoring required when used concomitantly with other anticholinergics, antihistamines, beta blockers, or tricyclic antidepressants

Reconstitution
