Indications
- Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including rhinitis and conjunctivitis
- Alleviating complications of itching, pain, and tenderness associated with neurofibroma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergy such as hayfever and urticaria
Pharmacology
- Anti-allergic properties
- Antihistamine properties
- Anti-anaphylactic properties
- Sustained inhibitory effect on histamine reactions
Dosage & Administration
- 1 mg twice daily for adults with food
- 2 mg twice daily in severe cases for adults
- 1 mg twice daily for children above 3 years with food
- 0.5-1 mg at night for sedated patients
- Same as adult dose for use in elderly
Interaction
- Potentiate effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohols
Contraindications
- Avoid concomitant use with oral antidiabetic agents
- Avoid in pregnancy or when breastfeeding

- Drowsiness

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not recommended in pregnancy and lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Continue previous treatment for a minimum of two weeks after starting Kitaf
- Supplement Kitaf treatment with antimicrobial therapy if intercurrent infection occurs
- Impaired reactions during initial treatment
- Avoid alcoholic drinks
- Potentiate effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol
