Indications
- prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma
- symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including rhinitis and conjunctivitis
- alleviating complications of itching, pain, and tenderness associated with neurofibroma
- symptomatic treatment of allergy such as hayfever, urticaria
Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- 1 mg twice daily with food for adults
- 1 mg twice daily with food for children above 3 years
- 0.5 to 1 mg at night for easily sedated patients
- use in elderly same as adult dose
Interaction
- potentiate effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohols
- reversible fall in platelet count
- avoid concomitant use with oral antidiabetic agents
Contraindications
- avoid concomitant use with oral antidiabetic agents
- no evidence of teratogenic effect in pregnancy or breastfeeding

- not recommended in pregnancy and lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- continue previous treatment for a minimum of two weeks after starting Asfen

- potentiate effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol
