Description

  • A hyperosmolar laxative used to treat constipation by drawing water into the bowel, promoting soft stool and accelerating bowel motion

Indications

Mode of Action

  • Metabolized in the colon by saccharolytic bacteria

Dosage & Administration

  • Adult dosage range: 3-6 teaspoons daily
  • Children dosage range: 1-3 teaspoons daily
