Pharmacology
Proton pump inhibitor that suppresses the final step in gastric acid production
Dosage & Administration
- Different dosages for benign gastric ulcer, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, duodenal ulcer, duodenal ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori, prophylaxis of NSAID-associated gastric or duodenal ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- IV Injection dosages for duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease associated with a history of erosive esophagitis, prevention of rebleeding in peptic ulcer, prophylaxis of acid aspiration, long-term management of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

Hypersensitivity to any components of the formulation

- Well tolerated in short-term and long-term treatment
- Common side effects: headache, diarrhea
- Rare side effects: abdominal pain, flatulence, rash, insomnia, hyperglycemia

- Long-term therapy may lead to malabsorption of cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) and increase the risk of osteoporosis related disorders
