Indications
- Prevents fertilization in case of unprotected intercourse
- Must be used within 72 hours after unprotected sexual intercourse
- Suitable for various scenarios including forgotten contraceptive pills, broken condom, expelled intrauterine device, moved contraceptive cap, failed coitus interruptus, and rape

Description
- Emergency contraceptive for women
- Not for regular birth control

Pharmacology
- Suppresses gonadotropins, inhibits ovulation
- Binds to progesterone and androgen receptors
- Slows release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone
- Inhibits rupture of follicles and viable egg release
Dosage
- 1.5 mg tablet intake within 72 hours of intercourse
- 0.75 mg tablet intake within 48 hours of intercourse
- Indicates the use of local contraceptives after emergency contraception
Administration
- Oral use
- To be taken with a glass of water
Interaction
- Interacts with anticonvulsant agents, rifampicin, and griseofulvin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to levonorgestrel or excipients
