Description

Dosage
Linagliptin 5 mg once daily
Mode of Action
Inhibitor of DPP-4 enzyme
Indications
- As monotherapy
- As combination therapy with metformin
- In combination with a sulphonylurea and metformin
Pharmacology
Increases the concentrations of active incretin hormones, stimulates the release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells, and decreases the secretion of glucagon from pancreatic alpha cells in a glucose-dependent manner
Interaction
Weak competitive and weak to moderate mechanism-based inhibitor of CYP3A4. Low risk for clinically meaningful interactions with other medicinal products

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients
