Description
- Pantobex is a proton pump inhibitor used for the treatment of peptic ulcer diseases, gastroesophageal reflux diseases, ulcers induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), eradication of Helicobacter pylori, and Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome.
Indications
- Peptic ulcer diseases
- Gastroesophageal reflux diseases
- Ulcer induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination with antibiotics)
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
Pharmacology
- Proton pump inhibitor
- Suppresses final step in gastric acid production
- Covalently binds to the H+/K+ATPase enzyme system
Dosage and administration
- Dosage depends on condition being treated
- Ranges from 20 mg daily to 80 mg once daily
- Oral and intravenous administration
