Indications
- Peptic ulcer diseases
- Gastroesophageal reflux diseases
- Ulcer induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination with antibiotics)
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
Pharmacology
Proton pump inhibitor that suppresses the final step in gastric acid production by covalently binding to the H+/K+ATPase enzyme system at the surface of the gastric parietal cell
Dosage & Administration
- Oral dosage for benign gastric ulcer
- Oral dosage for gastro-esophageal reflux disease
- Oral dosage for duodenal ulcer
- Oral dosage for duodenal ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori
- Oral dosage for prophylaxis of NSAID-associated gastric or duodenal ulcer
- Oral dosage for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- IV injection dosage for duodenal and gastric ulcer
- IV injection dosage for gastroesophageal reflux disease
- IV injection dosage for prevention of rebleeding in peptic ulcer
- IV injection dosage for prophylaxis of acid aspiration
- IV injection dosage for long-term management of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome and other pathological hypersecretory conditions

- Patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formulation

Pregnancy & Lactation
US FDA Pregnancy Category B. No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Excreted in human milk.
Precautions & Warnings
Tablets should not be split, chewed or crushed. Long-term therapy may lead to malabsorption of cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) or increase risk of osteoporosis related disorders
Overdose Effects
No known symptoms of overdosage in humans. Not readily dialyzable. Symptomatic and supportive management recommended
