Composition

  • Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel BP (47% minimum)
  • Magnesium Hydroxide BP
  • Simethicone USP
  • Aluminium Oxide
  • Equivalent amount of Magnesium Hydroxide Paste USP

Pharmacology

  • Non-systemic acid neutralizing substances
  • Antiflatulent
  • Relief of ulcer by neutralizing gastric acid
  • Antifoam properties
  • Relief of flatulence and meteorism
  • Elimination of gas from the gastrointestinal tract

Dosage & Administration

  • Tablet: 1-2 tablets 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime
  • Suspension: 1-2 teaspoonful 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime

Interaction

  • May increase or decrease absorption of concomitantly administered oral drugs
  • Decrease bioavailability of certain drugs
  • Increase bioavailability of some drugs

Contraindications

  • Patients with renal failure or hypophosphataemia
  • Severely debilitated patients
  • Alkalosis and hypermagnesemia
  • Partial or complete intestinal obstruction

Side Effects

  • Gastrointestinal side effects are uncommon
  • Occasional diarrhea, constipation, or regurgitation with excessive consumption

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Avoid in the first trimester of pregnancy

Precautions & Warnings

  • Use with caution in patients with kidney disease
