Indications

Pharmacology
- Biguanide type oral antihyperglycemic drug
- Lowers basal and postprandial plasma glucose
- Decreases hepatic glucose production

Dosage & Administration
- Individualized dosage based on effectiveness and tolerance
- Usual starting dose of 500mg twice a day for adults

Interaction
- No chronic interaction with Furosemide

- Caution in conditions causing dehydration
- Monitor blood glucose during combined therapy with sulphonylurea
