Indications
- Treatment of steroid-responsive inflammation of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva
- Treatment of inflammation of the cornea
- Treatment of inflammation of the anterior segment of the globe
Pharmacology
- Decreases inflammation by inhibiting migration of leukocytes
- Reverses capillary permeability
- Suppresses the immune system by reducing lymphocyte and eosinophil activity
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: One drop two to four times daily into the conjunctival sac
- Initial dosing frequency may be increased if necessary
- Caution against discontinuing therapy before completing the course
- Pediatric safety and effectiveness not established
Interaction
- No significant reported drug interactions
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva
- Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to ingredients or other corticosteroids
Side Effects
- Elevation of intraocular pressure
- Possible development of glaucoma

- Posterior subcapsular cataract formation
- Delayed wound healing
- Potential fungal and viral infections of the cornea

Overdose Effects
