Dosage for adults and adolescents: Montelukast 10 mg tablet once daily
Dosage for pediatric patients 6 to 14 years old: Montelukast 5 mg tablet once daily
Dosage for pediatric patients 2 to 5 years old: Montelukast 4 mg tablet once daily
Dosage for pediatric patients 6 months to 5 years old: Montelukast 4 mg oral granules once daily, direct administration in the mouth or mixed with cold water/soft food at room temperature
No dosage adjustment required in patients with mild-to-moderate hepatic insufficiency

No clinically important effects on the pharmacokinetics of specific drugs
Used concomitantly with a wide range of commonly prescribed drugs without evidence of clinical adverse interactions
Interaction with phenobarbital can decrease the AUC of Asmatab by approximately 40%
Appropriate clinical monitoring recommended when potent cytochrome P450 enzyme inducers are co-administered with Asmatab

Common: Diarrhoea, fever, gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, nausea, vomiting, skin reactions, upper respiratory tract infection
Uncommon: Akathisia, anxiety, arthralgia, asthenia, depression, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, haemorrhage, irritability, muscle complaints, sleep disorders
Rare: Angioedema, concentration impaired, disorientation, hallucination, hepatic disorders, memory loss, palpitations, suicidal tendencies

Not indicated for the reversal of bronchospasm in acute asthma attacks
Appropriate rescue medication should be available for acute exacerbations of asthma
Should not be abruptly substituted for inhaled or oral corticosteroids
Not to be used as monotherapy for the treatment and management of exercise induced bronchospasm
Patients with known aspirin sensitivity should continue avoidance of aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents while taking Asmatab

Adverse experiences may include abdominal pain, somnolence, thirst, headache, vomiting, and psychomotor hyperactivity
