Moxigen XG 0.5%+0.4% (Ophthalmic Solution)

Indications

• Treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of specific microorganisms

Pharmacology

• Antimicrobial action resulting from inhibition of topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV

Dosage & Administration

• One drop in the affected eye(s) 2 times daily for 7 days

Interaction

• No drug-drug interaction studies conducted

Side Effects

• Frequently reported ocular adverse events: eye irritation, pyrexia, conjunctivitis, decreased visual acuity, dry eye, ocular discomfort, ocular hyperemia, ocular pain, ocular pruritus, subconjunctival hemorrhage, tearing

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus
• Caution when administered to a breastfeeding mother

Precautions & Warnings

• Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms

Use in Special Populations

• Proven safety and effectiveness in children even younger than one month of age
• No overall differences observed in safety and effectiveness between elderly and younger patients

Overdose Effects

• Practically no risk of adverse effects due to accidental ingestion

Storage Conditions

• Store in a cool and dry place away from light
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not touch the dropper tip to surfaces to avoid contamination
• Do not use the medicine after one month of the first opening
