Indications
- Eradication of H. pylori in active chronic gastric, duodenal, and gastric ulcers
Pharmacology
- Proton-pump inhibitor
- Penicillin antibiotic
- Macrolide antibiotic
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: One strip twice daily for 7-14 days or as per physician's advice
- Geriatric use: Care should be taken when administering to elderly patients with asymptomatic renal and hepatic dysfunction
Interaction
- Lansoprazole is metabolized through the cytochrome P450 system
- Clarithromycin use in patients who are receiving theophylline may be associated with increased serum theophylline concentrations
- Reports of interactions of erythromycin and/or clarithromycin with various drugs
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components

Precautions & Warnings
- Serious and occasionally fatal hypersensitivity (anaphylactoid) reactions reported in patients on Amoxicillin therapy
- Clarithromycin should not be used in pregnant women except in clinical circumstances where no alternative therapy is appropriate
